Equatorial Energia eyes state-owned energy assets

Brazilian power company Equatorial Energia confirmed on Monday that it is considering bidding for two state-owned energy companies that are earmarked for privatization. Following a report in the financial newspaper Valor Econômico on September 24, Equatorial Energia said in a securities filing that it is "studying potential transactions for the acquisition of assets," including Companhia Energética de Brasília (CEB) in the Federal District and Companhia Estadual de Energia Eletrica (CEEE) in Rio
