Chile’s Enel Américas, a leading energy company in Latin America, said late on Monday that its board of directors approved plans for merging with the regional assets of Enel Green Power, a renewable power generation company. The merger, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021, will incorporate EGP’s five gigawatts of capacity in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru and Panama, taking the Enel Américas total capacity to 16.3 gigawatts from 11.3 GW, according to
