Minerva buys slaughterhouse in Colombia

Brazilian beef company Minerva said Wednesday that its Chilean subsidiary Athena Foods plans to spend $26 million to acquire and expand a slaughter and deboning facility in Colombia.  Athena, through its Colombian subsidiary Red Cárnica, will pay $14 million to buy the slaughterhouse from Frigorífico Vijagual.
