Brazilian beef company Minerva said Wednesday that its Chilean subsidiary Athena Foods plans to spend $26 million to acquire and expand a slaughter and deboning facility in Colombia.
Athena, through its Colombian subsidiary Red Cárnica, will pay $14 million to buy the slaughterhouse from Frigorífico Vijagual. It will also add $7 million in working capital and invest $5 million to expand and renovate the facility, Minerva said in a statement on Wednesday.
