Compass Gás e Energia filed for an initial public offering (IPO) to raise funds for acquisitions and investments, including the privatizations of state-owned assets in the natural gas distribution sector, according to a preliminary prospectus filed on Monday. Compass, which was formed by the sugar and ethanol producer Cosan in March this year, said it will list its shares on the Novo Mercado segment of the B3 stock exchange in São Paulo, but it did not say how much it planned to raise in the IPO
