Sergio Nardelli, CEO and a main shareholder of Vicentín, died on Wednesday night as the Argentine agribusiness struggles to emerge from financial problems that have made it a target of protests and, for a time, a potential government takeover.
Nardelli, 59, died of a heart attack at his home in Reconquista, a city in the central farming province of Santa Fe, according to local press reports.
The company declined to comment on Thursday about the death and who could be his replacement.
