Lojas Renner, EDP issue short-term notes in Brazil

Brazilian clothing retailer Lojas Renner and EDP Espírito Santo, a division of the local subsidiary of the Portuguese electric utilities company Energias de Portugal (EDP), both sold one-year debentures in the local market, according to the capital markets association Anbima. Lojas Renner issued BRL500 million ($96.6 million) to add to its cash holdings after closing its stores in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay on March 19.
