Hypera buys brands from Japanese pharma firm

Brazilian pharmaceutical company Hypera Pharma said on Monday that it agreed to spend $825 million to buy 18 brands from Japan's Takeda Pharmaceutical Company.  Takeda earned BRL900 million ($200 million) in revenues last year from sales of the over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription drugs involved in the deal, with 83% of that amount from Brazil and 15% from Mexico, Hypera said in a statement.
