Chilean power company AES Gener, a subsidiary of the US firm AES Corp, said it has called a shareholders meeting to discuss selling $500 million in new shares, according to a securities filing.
AES Gener added that it will use the money to fund its Greentegra renewable energy program, which involves $1.8 billion in investments for 1,600 MW of wind and solar power projects in Chile and Colombia.
