Brazil's Fertilizantes Heringer has blamed the "reprehensible posture" of Russia's Uralkali for the failure of a planned acquisition, the fertilizer company said in a securities filing.
Russian chemical company Uralchem and fertilizer producer Uralkali agreed to buy Heringer in September last year for as much as $115 million, offering to pay BRL2.00 ($0.46) for at least 51.5% of the Brazilian company. The deal, however, did not go through "as intended," Heringer said in the filing.
