EIB lends to water project in Ecuador

The European Investment Bank (EIB) said it approved a $60 million loan to finance water and sewage projects in and around the city of Portoviejo in Ecuador. The money will go the construction of six wastewater treatment plants, sewer networks and stormwater networks near the coast, the Luxembourg-development bank said in a press release on Tuesday. Portoviejo is the capital of the province of Manabí and sits around 30km from the Pacific coast.  The projects will also receive a grant for €10.4 mi
