The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) said Wednesday that it has earmarked $1 billion to buy and distribute COVID-19 vaccines in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The funds add to $1.2 billion in financing that the IDB has committed in 2020 "as well as other funds already programmed for 2021" to help governments in the region cover healthcare spending during the pandemic.
