Brazilian for-profit education company Ser Educacional said Friday that it signed an agreement with Laureate to end arbitration proceedings in exchange for a break fee and the right to acquire certain assets from Ânima Educação.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ânima will either pay BRL180 million ($31.4 million) to Ser or transfer ownership of 100% of two private universities, Faculdade Internacional da Paraíba (FPB) and Centro Universitário dos Guararapes (UniFG). Ser is also entitled to buy
