Eletrobras plugs in new notes for buyback

Brazilian state-owned electric utility company Eletrobras raised $1.25 billion from a two-part bond deal on Thursday, issuing new debt to repurchase its 5.75% 2021 notes, sources told LatinFinance. The company sold both series of bonds at par, printing $500 million in five-year notes to yield 3.625% and $750 million in 10-year notes to yield 4.625%, according to a source involved in the deal.
