Claro sets up debt sale in Brazil

Brazilian mobile phone carrier Claro, a division of the Mexican telecommunications company América Móvil, plans to sell BRL2.5 billion ($598 million) worth of debentures in the local market, according to the capital markets association Anbima. Led by Bradesco BBI, Claro intends to issue the two-year notes on January 30 at the DI interbank lending rate plus 0.96%, according to two sources familiar with the deal.
