Chinese banks have agreed to provide $600 million in financing to build a new refinery in Mexico, according to press reports.
Zhu Qingqiao, China's ambassador to Mexico, reportedly told journalists on Monday that Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and Bank of China are funding the Dos Bocas refinery in the southeastern state of Tabasco. He also said other, unidentified international banks are involved in the financing, according to press reports.
