South Korea has become a non-regional member of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) after contributing $450 million in capital, the development bank said in a press release.
South Korea's contribution allows CABEI to increase its lending capacity by $2.25 billion to more than $9 billion, the bank added.
