Claro dials up bond deal in Brazil

Claro, the Brazilian subsidiary of the Mexican telecommunications company América Móvil, has issued BRL1bn ($244m) in debentures in the local market, according to the capital markets association Anbima.

Itaú BBA coordinated the deal for the mobile phone company and priced the three-year notes at 106.5% of the DI interbank lending rate. Bradesco was the agent bank and Pentágono was the trustee, according to Anbima.

Claro sold BRL1.1bn in three-year debentures at 104% of the DI in March last year, led by Itaú BBA. It also issued BRL1.5bn in three-year debentures at 102.9% of the DI in October 2017, arranged by Bradesco.
