OPIC approves energy loans in Argentina

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) said it has approved $688m in loans for energy projects in Argentina, including money for wind power and shale oil production. The US development agency has granted a 10-year, $300m loan for Vista Oil & Gas to drill for shale oil in the Bajada del Palo block in the Vaca Muerta deposit in the province of Neuquén. It has also provided a $150m loan to Aleph Midstream, a natural gas pipeline and processing company formed in June this year by Vis
