Chile's CMPC said its subsidiary Softys has agreed to spend BRL1.31bn ($330m) to acquire Sepac and become the largest tissue company in Brazil.
Based in the southern state of Paraná, Sepac owns the brands Duetto, Oaloma, Stylus and Maxim, producing up to 135,000 tons of tissue paper and 175m diapers per year. Sepac is expected to record around $200m in sales this year, according to CMPC.
