Project & Infrastructure Finance Renewable Chile Debt Loans

French bank Natixis has granted a $100m loan to finance construction of another solar power project in Chile, LatinFinance has heard.

The deal is the second loan that Natixis has granted for a solar project in Chile and the third project in the Pequeños Medios de Generación Distribuidos (PMGD) program to get financing from a foreign bank, said a source involved in the deal.

The source declined to name the borrower, but he said the project will have 100 MW to 130 MW in capacity and was funded with an "innovative financing structure and hedge."

Natixis last month supplied a seven-year, $65m loan and a $5m letter of credit for Arroyo Energy to build 70 MW in solar power projects.

The French lender expects to close a loan for a third solar project in Chile next month, the source said.
