The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is reviewing a $57m loan to install street lights in Bolivia.
The Bolivian government wants funding for a $80m program to put in new LED lights in La Paz and Santa Cruz, according to a document from the IDB.
Demand for electricity in Bolivia grew at an average rate of 6.5% per year from 2012 to 2017, one of the highest growth rates in Latin America, and reached a total of 9.7 GW in 2017.
