Emerald Peak Private Equity said it is raising an impact investment fund for Central America and expects to reach first close in January 2020.
The private equity firm plans to raise at least $150m for the 10-year fund with a hard cap set at $175m. It has 21 companies in the pipeline, but expects to buy majority stakes in 12 to 18 companies, targeting agribusinesses, recycling firms and health and beauty companies. It intends to spend between $5m and $15m on each investment.
