Brazil's Afya said it raised at least $261m from an IPO in New York last week, pricing its shares at $19 apiece.
The company earned $225m from the sale of 11.8m shares on the Nasdaq exchange, while other shareholders, including the Brazilian private equity firm Crescera, collected $36.4m from the sale of 1.92m shares.
The IPO could move another $29.2m if the underwriters decide to buy up to an additional 2.06m shares, Afya said in a statement. The underwriters are Bank of America, Goldman Sachs
