The World Bank is in early talks with some Pacific Alliance countries about the possibility of issuing a new catastrophe bond, LatinFinance has heard.
In February 2018, the Pacific Alliance bloc made up of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru issued a $1.36bn catastrophe bond. The bond was the largest sovereign risk insurance transaction ever and the second largest issuance in the history of the catastrophe bond market.
