Peru could become the second sovereign issuer in Latin America to sell green bonds after Chile prints between $1.5bn and $2bn in cross-border notes for environmental projects, LatinFinance has heard.
"Raising green bonds has become more attractive in Peru. The sovereign is probably interested, though there are no firm plans," said Silvia Dávila, the assistant treasury director at the state-owned development bank Cofide.
