SoftBank hires team for LatAm tech fund

SoftBank Group said it has hired new partners to manage the recently created SoftBank Innovation Fund, a $5bn technology fund for Latin America. The Tokyo-based holding company formed the fund last month and named Marcelo Claure as CEO of SoftBank Latin America. Claure is now joined by André Maciel in São Paulo and Shu Nyatta and Paulo Passoni in Miami. Maciel, who previously worked on M&A and equity deals at JPMorgan, will structure transactions and oversee investments in early stage funds
