SoftBank Group said it has formed a $5bn technology fund for Latin America and opened a new subsidiary in the region.
The Tokyo-based holding company has committed $2bn to the SoftBank Innovation Fund and named Marcelo Claure as CEO of SoftBank Latin America. It still has not decided where it will put its new offices in Latin America, SoftBank said in a press release.
The new fund will focus on investments in e-commerce, digital financial services, healthcare, mobility and insurance in Argentina
