Brazil's Vale has named Eduardo Bartolomeo as its interim CEO, following the departure of Fábio Schvartsman as the head of the company.
Vale announced late last week that Schvartsman and three other executives had left the company, following a dam collapse in January killed at least 186 people and left 122 missing.
Vale shares in New York rose 0.24% to $12.42 after the announcement. The B3 stock exchange in São Paulo is closed on Monday and Tuesday for the Carnival holiday.
