Wintershall, the oil and gas subsidiary of Germany's BASF, said it plans to increase its operations in Brazil's offshore oil sector.
"The coast of Brazil is considered one of the most highly promising oil regions in the world. It is part of our growth course that we are also active in new regions, and Brazil offers great potential," Wintershall CEO Mario Mehren said at a press conference.
"We want to build a broad and diversified portfolio in Brazil," he added.
