The state of Aguascalientes has picked BBVA Bancomer, the Mexican division of Spanish bank BBVA, to supply a 20-year, MXN1.2bn ($62.5m) loan, the state finance secretary, Jaime González, told LatinFinance.
BBVA edged out Banorte, Banobras, Santander and BanBajío for the contract, he said. Six other lenders had participated in earlier rounds of selection process, including Banamex, HSBC and Vector, but the bidding had to be rescheduled because all the banks except Banobras had technical errors in
