The number of M&A deals in Mexico declined 18% in January, but the values rose by 40% year-on-year to almost $1.8bn, the research firm TTRecord said in a report.
Mexico's M&A space saw 13 deals move $1.7bn in January, spurred by América Móvil's acquisition of Telefónica's businesses in Guatemala and El Salvador for $648m, while undisclosed deals with US and UK firms snapping up Mexican assets added another $808m, TTRecord said.
