Avianca Brasil has named Jorge Vianna as its new CEO to replace Frederico Pedreira. Vianna was one of the founders of the air taxi company OceanAir and served as vice president from 2001 to 2009. Synergy Group, then the owner of OceanAir, acquired the Colombian airline Avianca in 2004 and renamed the Brazilian carrier Avianca Brasil after the merger with TACA in 2009.
