Brazil's JBS said its subsidiary Seara Alimentos has agreed to buy local margarine and mayonnaise brands from US agribusiness Bunge for BRL700 million ($172 million).
The acquisition involves facilities in the states of Santa Catarina, São Paulo and Pernambuco and includes the brands Delícia, Primor and Gradina, JBS said in a statement.
Bunge will hold on to its other brands in Brazil, including packaged oils, shortenings and specialty oils, the US company said in a separate statement.
