Brazil's Light said it has redeemed a loan from the national development bank BNDES, paying back BRL293 million ($71.8 million) in credit that would have come due in 2023.
The loan, which Light got in 2016 to finance a two-year investment program, carried a rate of 408 basis points over the Selic benchmark rate or 374 basis points over the TJLP long-term lending rate, the Rio de Janeiro-based power company said in a securities filing.
