S&P Global has upgraded Jamaica's credit rating to B+ from B with a stable outlook, saying the country has made progress toward macroeconomic stability and bolstered its resistance to external shocks.
Jamaica still has a high debt burden, and GDP growth remains low, despite a recent pickup, but the government is committed to lowering inflation, reducing debt levels and increasing international reserves, S&P said in a report.
