The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) said it has sold its first sustainable development bonds in Canadian dollars, raising CAD600m ($454m) for environmentally conscious projects in Latin American cities.
"The growth of the ESG sector in Canada led us to focus on this market and the larger than expected size was an excellent outcome. Going forward, the IDB hopes to become a more regular issuer in Canadian dollars," CFO Gustavo de Rosa said in a statement.
