Brazil's capital markets moved BRL269bn ($65.1bn) in the first nine months of the year, already surpassing the 12-month totals from previous years, according to the local capital markets association Anbima.
Debenture deals led the way with BRL122bn, or 45.5% of all transactions in the local capital markets in January to September 2019, Anbima said in a report. Institutional investors acquired 60.6% of the debentures on offer, while the underwriting banks took 35.5%, Anbima added.
