The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) plans to target Japanese investors in a private placement of sustainable development bonds before the end of the year, said Laura Fan, the head of funding at the development bank.
"It's not likely to be denominated in yen," Fan said about the upcoming deal. "Japanese investors look at other currencies because they are looking for yield," she added.
The IDB has discussed issuing notes in various currencies with investors, but it still needs to run a price
