Sempra Energy said it has agreed to sell its 83.6% stake in the Peruvian utility company Luz del Sur to China Yangtze Power for $3.59bn.
The deal includes Sempra's interest in the construction company Tecsur and Luz del Sur's generation business Inland Energy, the US energy company said in a press release. Sempra expects to conclude the deal in the first quarter of next year, pending approval from Peru's anti-trust authority, it added.
