Liberty Latin America said it has called off negotiations to buy Millicom International Cellular.
Millicom, which operates the Tigo mobile phone carrier in nine countries in Latin America, confirmed earlier this month that it had received an offer from Liberty, but it did not provide more details.
Liberty could have shelled out $7.6bn for Millicom in a cash and stock proposal, according to press reports.
Based in Luxembourg, Millicom has 51m customers in Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala,
