Surya Bhattacharjee gets promoted while Gabriel Bochi expands his role as head of credit markets for the US, LatAm
BBVA has named Surya Bhattacharjee its new head of debt capital markets for Latin America, promoting the managing director from his previous role as head of sovereign, quasi-sovereign and supranational debt issuance out of LatAm.
Bhattacharjee joined BBVA in November 2015 from BNP Paribas. He was at the French bank for roughly six years as a director in its LatAm DCM team. Prior to that Bhattacharjee completed stints at Morgan Stanley, Pali Capital and Deutsche Bank.
The investment bank's previous head of LatAm DCM Gabriel Bochi has expanded his role to include management of the US credit markets. In the new position, Bochi will be responsible for debt origination, syndication, trading and sales for both LatAm and the US.
