Argentine President Mauricio Macri has asked the IMF to quicken disbursements on a previously agreed-upon $50bn credit line to shore up the fledgling peso, which is now down 40% this year.
Investors that spoke to LatinFinance said Argentina should not risk tapping the capital markets for funding needs, leaving the sovereign with little choice but to ask the IMF for faster support.
