Ecuador's public works ministry MTOP said it has awarded a $303m highway PPP to the local construction company Verdú.
Verdú will spend $72m to repair 162km of highway between Guayaquil and Salinas and then invest another $232m to operate and maintain the road through the end of the 20-year contract, MTOP said in a statement.
The regional development bank CAF will provide financing for 70% of the construction costs, while Verdú will put in 30% in equity, MTOP said.
