Colombia's President-elect Iván Duque has named María Fernanda Suárez Londoño as the next minister of energy and mining. Suárez is the chief financial officer at the state-owned oil company Ecopetrol. She previously served as the director of public credit at the finance ministry and as vice president of investments at the pension fund Porvenir.
