Peruvian President Martín Vizcarra is considering three candidates for finance minister, following the resignation of David Tuesta on Monday night, according to press reports.
Tuesta took over Peru's ministry of economy and finance, or MEF, when Vizcarra replaced Pedro Pablo Kuczynski in late March. But he stepped down after bus and truck drivers threatened protests against a proposed hike to fuel taxes.
President Vizcarra said in a televised address that he had accepted Tuesta's resignation.
