Brazil puts pro-privatization minister in charge of energy and mines

Brazilian President Michel Temer has named Wellington Moreira Franco as the new minister of energy and mining, putting the cabinet official in charge of the proposed privatization of the electric company Eletrobras. Fernando Coelho Filho left the ministry earlier this month to run for Congress for the rightist Democratas party.
