Ergon Peru has secured a 13-year $142m loan for a solar power distributed generation project in the country, according to a source familiar with the deal. SMBC committed $71m as structuring bank, while Peruvian development bank Cofide provided the other half.
The $175m project will be funded with an 81:19 debt-to-equity ratio.
In May 2015, Ergon won a 15-year contract from the Peruvian energy ministry to install 150,000 photovoltaic systems spread across the northern, central and southern region
