YPF and its Malaysian state-run peer Petronas have advanced to the final phase of a pilot project in the La Amarga Chica field, a securities filing from the Argentine oil company showed. The third and final phase of the pilot project will entail roughly $193m in investments.
In completing the pilot initiative, the pair will drill 10 horizontal wells and build new installations to transport the shale oil produced in the area. The pilot program is expected to be completed in Q3 this year.
