Qatar Petroleum (QP) has agreed to buy 35% of three offshore oil fields in Mexico from Italy's Eni for an undisclosed amount.
The agreement covers the Amoca, Miztón and Tecoalli fields in Area 1 in the Bay of Campeche. QP already owns 35% of Block 24 in the Salina basin, while Eni has 65%.
Eni won the Area 1 concessions in an offshore oil field auction in September 2015. The Italian government-owned oil company will operate the fields, with plans to start production in mid-2019 and reach full
