Canadian Solar and EDF have agreed to terms with three banks for a 20-year loan to finance construction of the Pirapora II solar energy project in Brazil, sources told LatinFinance.
The regional development bank Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB) will disburse the BRL367m ($97.4m) loan this week, while BNP Paribas and BTG Pactual will provide a two-year completion guarantee for up to BRL147m, sources said.
The law firm Mattos Filho represents the banks on the deal. Pinheiro Guimarães represents
